Join the Pacific Education Institute (PEI) and our ClimeTime partners to take a deep dive into the role of Washington’s forests in climate change resiliency. Participants will learn about the solutions-oriented learning storyline format, which includes: local anchoring phenomena, culturally responsive practices tied to Since Time Immemorial, NGSS three-dimensional formative assessment, and a solutions-oriented approach to drawing down greenhouse gases with opportunities to elevate student voices in their communities.
This workshop is part of a series of activities that includes: a 2-day workshop (support available for teachers traveling long distances), implementation of the storyline this fall, collection, scoring, and submission of student work and a follow-up video conference to check-in on progress and provide feedback on November 6, 2019.
This workshop is for classroom teachers—actively teaching grades 5-12 in the fall of 2019,
- Sub reimbursement is provided up to $150 per day
- A $150 implementation stipend is available for those that implement the storyline, attend the video conference follow-up, and collect/submit student assessment data.
- 12 STEM Washington State approved Clock Hours are available for teachers attending the 2-day workshop.
